DID NOT CORRECT MY PROBLEM, I recently upgraded my OS to OS X 10.10.3 now my HP scanner will not scan to e-mail, so I downloaded Easy scan to correct problem, but when I attempt to use scanner I get the following message "an error occured during scanning” which is the same message I received prior to downloading Easy Scan Before I downloaded Easy Scan, I downloaded all current drivers from HP and this did not fix any problems either. Scanner worked fine prior to upgrading to the OS X operating system Last resort “Google”

Love it! Easy to install and works like a dream. So much easier to scan now vs old multi step process.

Download and press scan. Worked like a charm for my new Pro 6830.

HP sells a number of multifunction printer/scanners with the ‘duplex scanning’ feature listed. Many of these printers support ‘duplex scanning’ the same way your grill supports ‘duplex grilling’: Both sides get done as long as you are there to physically turn it over. Trying to scan both sides of a form — especially something that is multipage (and the author didn’t think it needed page numbers) can be particularly daunting and once you finally figure out a method that works, you will probably forget how you did it by the time you need to do it again. HP either needs to build that support in the printer so it ‘just works’ or they need to de-list that capability from their marketing. This software ‘just works’. You put the paper in the ADF, let it scan, pull the pile out the other end, rotate 180 degrees, put the paper back in the ADF, press ‘CONTINUE’ on the app and it gets done. The other features of the app are basic, but that’s the only thing you really need, if you are on a Mac: duplex scanning. So, 5 stars for doing exactly what they say, doing it correct, and doing it simple.

Very sad that this was needed, but I’ve had trouble for years scanning with my iMac and my MacBook Pro. This app installed in less than a min, auto recognized the printer on the network and solved all of my issues. Very nice GUI and easy to use! Nice Work!

it sounded to good to be true. i installed this app in hope that it would be a solution to HP’s interface. unfortunately it pucked all over itself upon opening the app

This app works with my HP C309A HP Photosmart Premium All in One Printer. Neither Bluetooth, USB cable, nor wireless scanning to computer has worked since Mountain Lion. Had been scanning to USB Pen Drive then transferring to computer and vice versa. Now, with this app my scanner works as intended. Downloaded, opened, scanned directly to computer using the automatic document feeder-. Haven’t tried BT or Wireless yet but the USB cable works.

I figured out a few years ago that Image Caputer worked well enough for scanning from my OfficeJet 8500. I did miss the OCR that I used to get with the HP software. I downloaded this in hopes that I would get OCR back. I didn’t. While this program works and does a decent job I will stick to using Image Capture.

I have a HP Color LASERJET 1312Mfi and This app dont work with this. Doesn’t even detect my HP Printer-Scanner- FAX. Dont Know why.

Upgraded to Yosemite OSX 10.10.4 and lost the ability to scan multipage documents with my HP Fax-Scanner-Printer. Pretty much lost every reason I had used to buy the printer in the first place. Fortunately my laptop computer is also an HP and the printer and the PC chat together quite nicely. HP Easy Scan is a simplified version of the original HP Scanner software. Recognized the printer on the wifi network immediately and seems to work as well as the original. Why couldn’t I find this on the HP website?

Not sure why this doesn’t come with the printer, but doing searchable PDF scans is a breeze with this. HP, why don’t you advertise this? I stumbled upon it after almost buying other apps and software that charge a lot of money for it. OCR works great. For duplex scanning, make sure to edit settings manually to enable it.

Does nor OCR at all. Jus plain image. Use Mac app instead.

I struggled with finding a preference to scan a whole article with a graphic, or picture with caption,such that the text doesn’t separate. I’m about to scan photos and need the captions. THis was like falling off log easy. Thanks!!

Thank you HP for coming out with a simple yet functioning scanning app! The past few months Image Capture had not been working, and every third-party scanning application I found either didn’t function the way I wanted or was only available on limited trial period. I’ve just ran some test scans and everything works great!!!

So much better than using the user-interface available through iOS System Preferences - Printers & Scanners. You no longer have to have everything dumped into a PDF and then do a “save as”. This was very cumbersome and there were so many problems with scanning multi-page documents. I just wish that, when saving a document, you could click on the name of an EXISTING document and then modify it. This would be extremely helpful, because when I am scanning and saving things like bills, I usually use the same file name but change a portion of the name which indicates the date. I really hope they include this in a future update.

Would be nice to use if it didn’t flip the documents I’m scanning.

Downloaded Easy Scan in hopes to enable scanning after I upgraded to El Capitain. This did not fix the problem. I still cannot scan. I re-installed all printer drivers prior, and that also did not fix. Frustrated

I downloaded this after I couldn’t get the old HP Scan application I had working over my network. I can’t scan with this either over the network. I used HP Scan numerous times in Yosemite without any problems. I can print to the printer over the network and access it’s built-in web server but running HP Easy Scan on El Capitan just results in a spinning wheel on the printer icon indefinitely.

I was update software my macbook and the app hp easy scan. Now I have problem with scaner feeder. Before updating everything was ok.
