HP Easy Scan App Reviews

I am not sure if it is a HP issue or an Apple issue but the simple fact is that the software will only work the first time I use it after it is installed. If I quit HP Scan or turn the computer off, I receive the following message: HP Officejet Pro 8610 [4B1CF8] is currently unavailable. Please check if it is turned on and connected, or try again later. The printer itself works fine. The issue is with the scanner. Frustrating.

I just used it with Mac OS X El Capitan, easy to load, easy to use. Looks like there was a problem with older versions. I almost didn’t try it, very glad that I did.

This has been the same application I was using before updating to El Capitan. I was worried that it would be worse or wouldn’t function, but it’s great. Now I feel like I never lost it to begin with. It’s what I’ve been using going on 6 years now. I’m so happy it didn’t take long for me to find and install it.

I’m definitely a person of limited skill when it comes to anything other than email and photos. But, I needed to scan a document for my insurance agent. Rather than going down to Kinko’s or some other office service provider, i thought I’d try it myself. I was able to download the app and I was able to get my document scanned. But, I couldn’t find it after all that was done. I tried downloading it, but it wouldn’t open as a download. I tried sending it to “documents” and it wouldn’t let me continue. After a 3rd try I gave up. So, it’s probably a good app, I just don’t know how to use it.

I was dreading the scan as I always have nothing but headaches-this worked the first time out with my multi-function Photosmart C309 g-m!

Useless software. Have used HP All in Ones for many years. Software is never reliable, always problems. I should have moved on to a better printer and software 16 years ago.

It would be nice if this app provided some value, but I find it does nothing more than what already comes with OS X. Worse than that, this app routinely hangs when trying to scan any document more than 3 or 4 pages. It’s more reliable to just use System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, and then select Scan on the device directly.

Been receiving errors on my HP AllinOne forEVER and gave up trying to fix it months ago. Just installed HP EasyScan minutes ago and everything is now working. Happy tears. It’s the little things.
